Connie Gail Humber, 63 of Dora died Friday, July 10, 2009 at
Birmingham Nursing and Rehabilitation. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m.
today, July 11, at Good Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating.
Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Bell Funeral Home
Sumiton is handling arrangements on behalf of the family.

Joe Bob Franklin, of Jasper died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his
residence. Arrangements will be announced later by Collins-Burke Funeral Home.
Ralph Brasfield, 79, of Quinton
Ralph Brasfield, 79, of Quinton passed away Thursday, July 9,
2009.
He was a Korean War Veteran, a lifetime member of the Military Order of the
Purple Hearts having received two Purple Hearts. He was a member of Disable
American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign War.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 11, 2009, at the West
Jefferson Free Will Cemetery with burial to follow with military honors. The
Rev. Doug Tate will officiate. Visitation will be today from noon until 1:30
p.m. at the New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo Brasfield; daughter, Phyllis Hollis;
grandchildren, Robby Hollis, John Hollis, Megan Perkins, great grandchildren,
Brett Hollis, Brenna Hollis, Robert Hollis, Coby Hollis, Zack Perkins; brother,
Charles Brasfield; sister, Barbara Irwin.

Shirley J. (Romine) Abrams, 72, of
Indiana, Pa.
Shirley J. (Romine) Abrams, 72, of Indiana, Pa., died Wednesday,
July 8, 2009, at Beacon Ridge in Indiana. She was born Sept. 1, 1936 in Loyal,
Ky., the daughter of Calvin and Emily (Howard) Romine.
Shirley was a lifelong member of Church of God, where in her younger years, she
taught Sunday school. She sang gospel on the radio. Shirley enjoyed writing
poetry. Her lifelong profession was as a florist. She had many friends and loved
living life to the fullest.
She is survived by her mother, Emily Smith of Jasper; her daughter, Shannon
Weymer and husband, Frank, of Northern Cambria, Pa.; her sons, C. Keith Davis
and wife, Melinda, of Glen Campbell, Pa., and Michael Abrams of Virginia; four
grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and her sister, Joyce Osborne of Jasper.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Calvin; her sister, Carol Sue
Henderickson; and her brother, Curtis Howard.
Friends were received from 5-9 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Rairigh Funeral Home
Ltd. in Hillsdale, Pa., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today,
July 11, with Pastor Russ Havener officiating.

William Lallor Burgett, 84, of Nauvoo, died
Thursday, July 9, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will
be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12 at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with
burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. the Rev. Richard Harbin will
officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral
home. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Burgett;
mother, Charlette Lallor Burgett; brothers, John Henry Burgett
Jr., Robert Edward Burgett, and James Jackson Burgett; sons,
William A. Burton, Phillip Wayne Burgett and infant Burgett;
grandparents, William R. Lallor, Amos Burgett, Mollie Dunn
Lallor and Nallie Burgett.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Moses Burgett of Nauvoo;
step-daughters, Robin R. Furrer of Wachula, Fla., Beth R. Rogers
of Anniston and Patricia R. Flengas of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; son,
William Larry Burgett of Nauvoo; step-sons, Tommy W. Robinson of
Ozark, Elgin D. Robinson of Ozark and James B. Robinson of Blue
Ridge, Ga.; and sisters, Margaret Burgett Bowles of Jasper; 12
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Rogers, Christian Rogers, Adam Furrer,
Justin Wordon, Pete Slengas, Doug Bell and Jack Keisling.
