Meet the "man" who's taken the (formerly good) name of a family and single-handedly made it the equivalent of raw sewage. (The word "man" is in quotes because we're now receiving information that would lead us to believe David had more than just a passing interest in one of the "Jersey Boys" and that this interest was the beginning of the now long-standing hatred that he now claims to hold for them. This would also explain the "gay-porn" that has been sent to the radio station and why David was so very much interested in having it all sent directly to him as expediently as possible without anyone knowing what kind of mail he was secretly seeking to divert to himself.)
For years now, we've tried to determine just where the bakery is located that David Rushing is supposed to own. His girth indicates that it must be true yet his intellect makes running a successful business seem to be an absolute impossibility. Yet, the rumors persist that David Rushing has power and money because (according to the locals) he's "in bread". As of November, 2007, we have found no evidence whatsoever to support the theory that David Rushing truly is indeed "in bread". We'll keep looking for evidence of these alleged "riches" and report back on what, if anything, turns up.
We will soon update this page to include a better picture of David Rushing. We have also uploaded original recordings of David Rushing as he calls our advertisers in an effort to frighten them out of conducting business with our station. You will actually get to hear David Rushing as he brazenly violates federal trade laws and (during his taxpayer-paid business hours) does exactly the opposite of what he is paid to do: Willfully and maliciously seeks to force a local business into nonexistence! Our community probably should offer him a raise for being so brazen, huh? Soon, you will hear him in action! We will also be uploading the original recording in which David Rushing and John Mann (an area attorney who shares ethical and moral values with David Rushing) make the original threat: "I wonder what would happen to you if we were to tell Rick Roach that you are planning to go on the air with news of some of the things he's doing in the courthouse? You would probably disappear and be no more trouble to us."
One of the best displays of the brazen audacity of David Rushing came at a recent court hearing in which Rushing and his co-conspirator, Rick Walden, were whimpering and whining while (falsely) claiming that "everything on the radio station's website is an absolute lie!". When asked to what lies he was referring, Rushing sheepishly responded with, "Right now, I can't think of anything (on this very website) that's not true ..."
When first meeting David Rushing, he will impress you with his smooth and friendly "style". It took me many weeks to even realize what was going on when he fought "tooth and nail" to gain access to the magazines that advertised and promoted homosexual behavior between grown men and underage boys that kept arriving in the mail at the radio station. What really was confusing about this was that David was actually proud to have John Mann argue in open court that these publications should be immediately handed over to Rushing as soon as they arrived!
This absolute and complete "fixation" on receiving the gay porn really became an item of curiosity when David began engaging in open and public displays of affection with Lynn Switzer (holding hands, hugging, whispering in the ear, etc.). At this point in time, one would really have to wonder: "Toward which tree does this monkey prefer to swing?"
Affectionately known in the local area by such names as "Wonder Boy", "Happy Hindenburg" and "The Walking Lawsuit", David Rushing has insinuated his evil influence into almost every position of power within the rapidly dieing city of Shamrock, Texas.

During the short time since Rushing has come into power:

The city's population has dwindled to fewer than 2,000. Shamrock has not seen such sparse population since the first half of the 20th century!

Several local businesses have been put to a slow death by and through Rushing's most effective participation in the local predatory lending scheme in which finances are heaped upon out-of-town business owners and, just before the loans are fully repaid, Rushing and his associates contact clients of the business advising that "there's somethin' wrong and that business ain't to be trusted". Subsequently, the business is blacklisted and folds with only a small remaining balance due on it's mortgage. The business is then seized and sold to a close friend or associate of Rushing for pennies on the dollar.

On July 29, 2002, the local radio station, who had no outstanding loans with Rushing's SEDC, was the victim of a broad daylight armed robbery by Rushing and two of his SEDC associates. The robbery was led by Rushing, who had absolutely no regard as to who witnessed the crime. Some 18 months later, following numerous court hearings in which Rushing asserted his imagined "ownership" of the radio station, the station owner was awarded the return of some $85,000 in equipment that was "accidentally misappropriated" by SEDC with Rushing in command. The end result was that the incident was labeled a "happy little mistake" with no resulting charges against either Rushing or any other SEDC personnel. Meanwhile, the station owner (who had never sought out SEDC financing at all and has never owed SEDC so much as a single penny) was indicted for allegedly "stealing money, the property of David Rushing" from his own radio station! Rushing has cultivated and is quite proud to maintain close associations with area crime figures. Most notably, Rushing has been extremely proud of his affiliation with Rick Roach. Roach is currently serving a 5 year sentence in a federal prison in that, while deceiving the public as a "drug intolerant district attorney", Roach was busily stealing money (obviously with the intent to profit) and drugs (with the intent to distribute). Rushing has been known to threaten people in the past with having criminal indictments issued "as a favor of my good friend, the DA that can indict anybody at anytime for no reason at all". Obviously, birds of a feather will flock together...

Rushing also prides himself on having the ability to say that he is a person who "decides who can stay and who has to go" in town. In his own words, "If I don't like a person, their business or their family, all I have to do is to 'put the word out' and nobody in town will dare support that person by doing business with 'em!"
As Rushing is currently engaged in serving as "mouth-boy / fall-guy" for local crime leaders, his ego has grown to the point that he is absolutely convinced of his own utter invincibility. Rushing displays no regard what-so-ever for the rights, feelings, wants or needs of others. This especially applies to children as one of his most preferred methods of attack is to steal the toys and belongings of the children of his "lesser people" who he chooses to "force out" by "putting the word out" and engaging the community in a vicious unlawful restriction of trade conspiracy. Keep in mind that each and every one of these is a violation of court order to "remain silent on the matter". Here are those links so that you may decide for yourself and wonder "Why is it that Mr. Rushing seems to be able to do anything he wants (in direct violation of court orders) with no fear of being found in contempt of court? Perhaps "close connections" with a crooked district attorney who is more concerned with keeping criminal promises than with seeking justice could have some bearing on this?
