H.R. 3439 & S. 2068 are threatening Community Radio! Write, e-mail, and call your SENATORS to voice your support for Low Power FM radio services. Let them know your upcoming vote will reflect how they respond to these current bills. You need to keep a careful watch on these bills, and those who oppose or support. These two so called "Radio Preservation Acts", only preserve Corporate Radio interest and does not serve the public's interest at all. You won't find very many stories about this, as we live in a Corporate Media world, and they don't want the public to rally against them. Put the power back in the hands of the people, urge your SENATORS to vote NO on H.R. 3439 and Senate Bill 2068. These will kill Low Power FM, and the public's chance for their right to the airwaves. Click here to find out which politicians have been bought by Corporate Media. Click here to see the sponsors of H.R. 3439.

Don't let the NAB convince Senators to add the Anti-LPFM bills to an Appropriations bill!

This page helps you send a fax to the Senators on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, who have received HR3439 (stopping LPFM) which was passed by the House of Representatives, and who have S2068 (stopping LPFM), an original Senate bill.

This page takes you to a list of other Senators, who might have to vote on these bills. Where possible, their attitude toward LPFM is noted.

THE LATEST NEWS ON LPFM!
According to an article in the August 16, 2000 issue of "Radio World" the NAB has filed a legal brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals to prohibit the FCC from implementing LPFM. Oral arguments are slated to begin November 28th, 2000. This means the NAB has successfully blocked LPFM proceedings until after the election. Current LPFM applicants will have to wait until the Court of Appeals addresses the LPFM issue later this year. However, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should a prospective licensee put-off filing during the appropriate filing window for their location! These "slime-ball" antics are just exactly what they seem: Childish whining brought about due to a lack of mental development at an earlier stage of life.
